FUTURE PROJECTS

WATER HYACINTH PADS

While disposable pads can take 500-800 years to break down and cotton pads can take up to 3 years, pads made from Water Hyacinth fibers would only take 3-6 months to biodegrade. This project has completed a round of research with NITEC and Pokhara University and is on hold for a final round of research and approximately $10,000 of funding to set up the machine.

50 NPR PADS

With labor costs included, a pad of Ashwin's original model would be approximately 150 NPR. Ashwin has designs for a slightly smaller and simpler model that can be used either during lighter flows or purchased by women who cannot afford the other style. Both will be leak proof. He has begun making these pads but their release is secondary to the original pad model.

COLLABORATION WITH AUTISM NEPAL

Ashwin has been in contact with Autism Nepal to set up training sessions and talks with autistic youth and adults.
